Here’s how a new-patient exam unfolds, from start to finish. It usually takes around 45–60 minutes, and it’s all done at your pace.
You won’t be dropped straight into the chair. We begin with a relaxed conversation to understand your dental history, any concerns or goals, and what kind of care feels right for you. Some people want to take things slow. Others want to fix everything fast. We’re here to support either.
We’ll take any digital X-rays that are clinically needed, plus a full 3D scan of your teeth and bite using our high-resolution TRIOS or CEREC scanner. No gooey impressions. You’ll see your mouth like never before in full colour and full detail.

Your scan is yours to keep and can be used for future planning or just to understand your mouth better.
We then perform a careful, thorough check of:
- Teeth, gums, bite, and soft tissues
- TMJ (jaw joint) and facial muscles
- Lymph nodes and oral cancer screening
- Tooth alignment and orthodontic assessment
- Smile aesthetics – shape, symmetry, and whitening options if this is something you’re interested in
Nothing is rushed, and you’re welcome to ask questions or just observe quietly, whatever makes you feel most at ease.
We’ll show you your scan and images, explain any findings clearly, and discuss what they mean. If treatment is needed, we’ll lay out your options, from small preventive steps to full restorative or cosmetic plans.
